CANADIAN CHILDREN LEADERS GROUP
(CCLG)
History and Mission
In March 2010, Nazia Asad, the then student of grade 6 at Crestview Public School came up with an idea to form a group of neighborhood school students with the purpose of organizing literary and cultural events in the community. The vision of this group, now called the Canadian Children Leaders Group (CCLG) is to organize literary and family events such as debates, quizzes, speeches, writing competitions and family games in the neighborhood schools to encourage the students and their families to participate and get engage in healthy competitive activities as well as link with other students/parents. The first of such program (Debate Competition) was organized on March 19th, 2010 at Crestview PS.
The program was turned out to be a very successful event and more parents and students came forward to participate and help in organizing such events. They wanted us to continue organizing such events on a regular basis. We are very encouraged with the response received from everyone. Later on, quiz and speech competition, family games competition were organized during the later years.
Our following programs were actively supported by the area notable people such as MP, MPP, Councillor and School Board Trustee. They have provided certificates to the participants on these occasions.
